HELPING TO BUILD A NUTRITIONAL FOUNDATION FOR LIFE

Vitamin D & Calcium

Two 200 ml servings provide at least 100% Vitamin D*

SMA® PRO Toddler Milk contains Calcium and Vitamins A & C. It can also provide 100% of a toddler’s daily Vitamin D requirement for normal growth and development of bone. It is very important for toddlers to have enough Vitamin D. One of the major roles of vitamin D is to assist with calcium absorption. Vitamin D can be obtained through exposure to sunlight. However, sunscreen, which is always recommended for children going out in the sun, may prevent the skin from making enough vitamin D. SMA® PRO Toddler Milk is one way to help provide your toddler with their daily vitamin D requirement.

Omega 3 & 6

Contains Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids to support normal development and growth†

SMA® PRO Toddler Milk with NUTRI-STEPS® also contains Omega 3 & 6 LCPs (Long Chain Polyunsaturates). This is to help ensure that infants aren’t missing out on these important nutrients. Although LCPs can be made in the body, toddlers have a high demand for these nutrients and can benefit from an additional source.

Iron

Fortified with Iron

SMA® PRO Toddler Milk with NUTRI-STEPS® is fortified with iron to help normal cognitive development.

Iodine

Iodine

SMA® PRO Toddler Milk also contains iodine to help support normal growth of children.

*2 x 200ml provides toddlers with 108% of the RI for vitamin D. Reference Intake (RI) is the amount of vitamins and minerals required per day by young children to help meet their daily nutritional requirements

†The beneficial effect of essential fatty acids is obtained with a daily intake of 10g of Linoleic acid and 2 g of a-linolenic acid.

Important notice

The best way to feed a baby is to breastfeed, as breast milk provides the ideal balanced diet and protection against illness for your baby and also many non-nutritional benefits for both baby and mother. We recommend that you speak to your healthcare professional when deciding on your choice of feeding your baby. Professional guidance should also be sought on the preparation for and maintenance of breastfeeding. If you do choose to breastfeed, it's important to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Infant formula is intended to replace breast milk when mothers choose not to breastfeed or if for some reason they are unable to do so. A decision not to breastfeed, or to introduce partial bottle-feeding, will reduce the supply of breast milk. If for any reason you choose not to breastfeed, do remember that such a decision can be difficult to reverse. Using infant formula also has social and financial implications which must be considered. Infant formula should always be prepared, used and stored as instructed on the label, in order to avoid risks to a baby’s health. SMA® PRO Toddler Milk is suitable for young children from 1-3 years, as part of a healthy balanced diet and it is not a breast milk substitute.

Important advice to mothers

The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life. SMA® Nutrition fully supports this and continued breastfeeding, along with the introduction of complementary foods as advised by your healthcare professional.

SMA® PRO Toddler Milk is suitable for young children 1-3 years and it is not a breast milk substitute. Breastfeeding should continue for as long as possible. Do not allow prolonged or frequent contact of milk with your toddlers teeth, as this increases the risk of tooth decay. Ask your health care professional or dentist for advice.

If you continue you will be accepting that SMA® Nutrition is supplying this information at your individual request and for educational purposes only.
