The midwife team are on hand via live chat Monday to Friday, 10am – 8pm, offering invaluable midwifery support for newborn parents and parents‑to‑be. Our expanded service now also includes access to a health visitor every Monday from 10am – 2pm, and a dietitian available Monday to Thursday from 12pm – 4pm. All chats are completely FREE for SMA® Baby Club members, fully private and confidential, and you can access the online service from anywhere, as often as you need.

When you access Midwife Live, you’ll be connected to a midwife from Epical Global. Although Epical Global is affiliated with SMA® Baby Club, the advice they provide is independent.
Yes, all the midwives on the Epical Global team are fully qualified, insured and are registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, the independent regulating body for nurses and midwives in the UK. Epical Global is also regulated by the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
Yes, the health visitor on the Epical Global team is fully qualified, insured and registered with The Nursing & Midwifery Council, the regulating body for nurses and midwives in the UK. Epical Global is also regulated by the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
Yes, the dietitian on the Epical Global team is fully qualified. Sophie Mumby RD MNutr PGCert, is a Registered Dietitian and her qualifications are a first class honours undergraduate masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a post graduate certificate in Eating Disorders.

You can use the Online Midwife Chat service as frequently as you would like. There is no limit to how many times you can access it.
The Midwife team are available from 10am to 8pm Monday to Friday. However, SMA Careline® is available around the clock if you’d like support on feeding queries or have other questions.

Yes! As part of your SMA® Baby Club membership, you get exclusive access to this service completely free.
We do not use AI midwives on the team. All the midwives you’ll be chatting to are real people.
If your question is about formula milk—How to prepare it, which stage to use, or anything product-related—our friendly SMA Careline® team is your best bet. They are on-hand 24/7.
